Making some changes!

Hello friends,

First of all, we’re still very much still in business Vigorously so. With bells on. If you’re a local competitor, I’m still coming for you, every bit as unrelenting as I’ve always been. The only thing that’s changed is now you won’t see me coming. I’ll explain.

In light of recent events, I’ve made a few changes around here. I have deleted most of the company social media accounts (and my personal ones) as an act of protest. Frankly, they weren’t driving traffic to my company anymore like they used to, but they were an ever-increasing intrusion into my life and privacy. I only tolerated them this long because they kept me in touch with my community. I realized something though: by staying I was part of others’ decision to stay. I was a hurtle to others asserting their autonomy and that runs counter to my values

In the current political climate I am finding it increasingly necessary to maintain my customers’ privacy. Many of my clients identify as members of marginalized communities who are in real danger now. Even something as innocuous as a kitchen remodel photo with a geo tag could cause serious harm these days under the wrong circumstances.

So how will we keep in touch? I have been collecting e-mail addresses for years via my quote form and mailing list pop-up. I intend to start publishing a newsletter. I will also be posting more photos here. You can call me, text me, write letters, trade postcards, or come knock on my front door (gasp) like we used to do.

Call or text me: seven two zero three one five eight five nine one

Eventually I want to start hosting and streaming my back-catalog of instructional carpentry content among other things.

Life in 2025 is going to become a little less convenient, but I think that it could be a positive development too as we reach a point where our communication has to become more deliberate.

Thank you for reading! I hope you keep in touch.

Sincerely nobody’s,

Nate Cougill, owner.
